Rough Cut 2

Image
This is my second rough cut, there is still alot that i need to redo to for the final cut and their are some parts that need to be filmed. I need to redo the monologue to make sure that the audio is clear to the audience and that the main footage is good enough to hold the spectators attention.

Rough Cut 1 (Monologue)

Image
Rough Cut 1 Monologue This is my first rough cut, I wanted to make sure that the monologue was good before filming. This was also contributed by the fact that my actress was unavailable for the deadline of the first rough cut, therefore, I have made sure that the audio for the monologue was good. However, the audio isn't clear enough and I will be redoing the recording of the monologue to improve the outcome.

Practice of Camera Shots and Angles for NEA

Image
These are some practice shots that i have done for the NEA Coursework to make sure that i know what kind of shots i would like to use in the coursework to make sure that it meets the mark scheme for camera shots and angles.

Monologue for NEA

This is my 2nd draft its almost finished just needs to be a bit longer and needs a few changes. Monologue:    With all my heart I have missed you, it's been two weeks now and that’s two weeks to long. I didn’t know how I would survive without you, it hard when you're not here, however I guess that’s the problem with living it often leaves people alone, the other problem is mankind strive for conversation and one another, and without you I'm scared.  Why aren't you here? You said I’ll never leave you, yet you're not here you have disappeared; stop appearing in my dreams, stopped coming around my house and I don’t know what to do about it? Why did you stop? Why did you go? Maybe it was me, no don’t be silly I can't control destiny I can only try to my best to get on with my life and never forget you or your kindness, your manners and your bright smile and your amazing bright personality. But where are you now that I need you. You can fix it all, bu...

Change of NEA Coursework

Image
Change of NEA Idea The new idea for my coursework is having a person sitting and waiting for another person to arrive, they are thinking in their head, the inner monologue will be heard by the audience in a non-diegetic style to make a personal connection between the main actress/actor. The monolouge isnt about the person they are meeting its actually about their fathers funeral. The main actor will then be waiting for the other person to arrive, in a pub or cafe or library, a place like that but will be doing things like checking there phone and, drinking a coffee etc or i may use a park bench and so it an open space and there are people walking around the park in front of the camera as well as kids playing in the park. I will show this through a over the shoulder shot, and other close ups etc. Once the other person arrives like in E.T. you never see there face and you just hear them talk and the main actor picks up the pile of funeral cards that are in front of her and one falls on...

NEA Coursework

Final Idea  My final NEA idea is to create a documentary about my late Grandfather Phillip who i would like to learn about as i have no memory of him, as he passed away when i was a year old. This means that i will have to use members of my family to get the story of his life. This is a story that i wanted to create as i wanted to show his wonderful and extremely eventful life, and i also wanted to create a documentary to do with my family as i think it would be a nice way to remember and reflect. Narrative Application -  There will be a semi linear narrative that recalls the story of my grandfather Phillip but there will be non linear elements of stock footage as well as the, photos. I hope to make the film easy and simple to comprehend by using the chronological order to the film going through year by year. Mise - en - Scene Application Setting - The setting that will be used be used are home environments such as my house, my nans house and my aunties house. Hair & Mak...

Run! - Short Film Remake - Evaluation

Image
Run! - Remake - Evaluation   Evaluate the use of micro elements in your short film. - Mise-en-scene- Through setting i have created the same setting as the original, as i have used a wooded area, to try and make the film link closely to the original, however trying to add my own spin on it. I never focused on hair make-up and costume, due to the fact it was a quick task and was filmed during school. The use of setting has helped to create a powerful narrative and through the use of this micro elements a simple linear narrative has been created.  - Cinematography- I have tried to link it to the original but i have not tried to copy any shots in the original as i have tried to add my own creative twists to it. This decision was caused because of the limited time and i was trying to film from multiple angles but didn't think to closely about the original.  Editing- I have cut down some of the shot lengths meaning that after my final edit the short film,it ...

Where have I been all your life? - Evaluation

Where have I been all your life? – Evaluation.  Micro Elements: ·         Mise-en-Scene ·         Cinematography ·         Sound ·         Editing Macro Elements: ·         Representation ·         Genre ·         Narrative ·         Audience The dialogue is the most important thing to drive the narrative along, using this micro element, macro elements are constructed throughout the short film. This short film uses comedy to create a lighthearted take on a delicate subject.  Establishing this narrative helps to assemble a liner narrative and one that can conform to Todorov’s theory of narrative. As throughout the film, an equilib...

Cinematography in the Truman Show

Image
Cinematography in the Truman Show  The scene I will be using to show cinematography in the Truman show is the Do something scene with Truman and his “Wife”. Straight away a medium shot is used to create a sense of relaxation between the two characters. This allows the viewers to analyse how Truman’s “Wife” is acting and the character that she is playing. So the medium shot helps to show a relaxation between the two people. It helps to make the film feel natural and comfortable and Truman won’t notice what is happening as there is hidden cameras everywhere.   The second type of camera shot used is a two shot which has been used to show the interaction of Truman and his “Wife”. It helps to show a relaxed nature between both of them and there familiar relationship. The next shot is an extreme close up that is zooming in on Truman’s “Wife” as she is advertising the “Mococa” This type of shot helps to show a massive change between what is real a...

Special Effects Editing - An Independent Study - Overview of Research and Outcomes

Image
Overview: Sky Transformation This is my 1st attempt transforming the sky. I have simply over-layed the stars over a normal background clip. However if i was to do this again i would make it look more professional.  This is the Video that i used to help me Edit the small clip. Giant Green Screen This is the Video that I used to help me make a giant however using a green - screen does differ from how this video does it.  This my First attempt at making someone a giant with a green screen. This has made it look more professional. If i was to do it again i think that i would try and fix the background and make it look even better.  Shrinking People This is the video that i used to make the these outcomes. As it allowed me to be able to resize people.  First Attempt: This was my first attempt at shrinking people in premiere pro. We created this by using the box and creating the same perspective. This has he...

Special Effects Editing - An Independent Study - Possible Final Task- Animation

Image
Final Task Planning Planning: - I will try to create a 30 second to 1 minute sequence using special effects, to show what i have learned throughout the last 3 weeks. I would like to create a sequence that shows a person moving to a beat and a series of animation's to create a high quality piece.  This is the Video that I shall be using to help me create my final piece of the Special Effects Editing - Independent study task.  I will either use a person or maybe a dog which will allow me to create the lines that are evident in this video.

One - Take Planning

Image
One - Take Planning:   Kingsman: The Secret Service Church Fight Scene was done in One Take. This can be seen by the continuous tracking shot on Colin Firth.  This Scene is from the film Baby Driver. This scene is one continuous tracking shot. This is quite effective way to start a film .   The Opening of Spectre is one continuous tracking shot, however it may not have been done in one take but it still is very effective. As it is a Continuous shot on Daniel Craig.

NEA Final Piece Ideas
