Run! - Short Film Remake - Evaluation

Run! - Remake - Evaluation

Evaluate the use of micro elements in your short film.

- Mise-en-scene- Through setting i have created the same setting as the original, as i have used a wooded area, to try and make the film link closely to the original, however trying to add my own spin on it. I never focused on hair make-up and costume, due to the fact it was a quick task and was filmed during school. The use of setting has helped to create a powerful narrative and through the use of this micro elements a simple linear narrative has been created.

- Cinematography- I have tried to link it to the original but i have not tried to copy any shots in the original as i have tried to add my own creative twists to it. This decision was caused because of the limited time and i was trying to film from multiple angles but didn't think to closely about the original.

Editing- I have cut down some of the shot lengths meaning that after my final edit the short film,it is under a minute but i think, it creates a good outcome and links closely to the original. I have added a few transitions to the audio to make it fade in and out.

Sound- I didn't rerecord sound and i wouldn't add more dialogue as i just don't think the film needs it as it is quite an intense film that has  linear narrative driven by the cinematography not the dialogue like in Where have i been all your life. If i was to re-edit this footage again i would add some more dramatic heartbeat sound or maybe add some heavy breathing sounds as i think they just get lost under the music and they weren't very noticeable in the footage anyways.
